Excellent hotel except remnant smell of tobacco/cigarette

Everything except the remnant tobacco smell from yesteryears and which I’m sensitive to. It’s an old world 4 stars hotel which is very well maintained. The location is unbeatable. Next to train station, the airport bus is in front of the entrance. I get a view of Mt Fuji from my room. Staff service is excellent and on par with a 4 star hotel.

The tobacco/cigarette smell left over from yesteryears. It’s almost impossible to remove this unless the walls and carpets are overhauled. Unfortunately I have a very keen sense of smell

Best location in Shizuoka city for travellers willing to pay a bit more

Nice location right outside the JR Shizuoka station with easy access to the Parche station and the shopping areas in the Aoi ward. I like that there were social media campaigns going on that gave guests gifts such as bar vouchers. The staff are very helpful and have great English skills. Since it is managed by the JR Central Hotels group, and some of the hotels are under the Marriott umbrella, this hotel gives a feel very similar to staying at a JW Marriott.

Interior is somewhat dated, and lighting can be quite dim. TV entertainment system can do with some refresh, although it was okay since I had a laptop PC and a HDMI cable.

Wonderful

The hotel was very clean,. The staff spoke to me in Japanese when I spoke in Japanese and used English words only when I was struggling with some vocabulary.

Nothing really. But if I'm forced to answer: the area between the hotel and the station smells a bit burnt diesel because of traffic (but I like that there are many bus options). One of the lights of the room looked like it was pushed far too deep inside the ceiling as it should have.

Look forward to returning!

The location next to the station was perfect and close to shops and restaurants which we appreciated as it was a quick stopover on the way to another location. We did not know that Shizuoka was such an interesting place and we look forward to returning to this hotel where we spent a really pleasant one night. The room was spotless and the staff kind. The breakfast buffet was excellent! Thank you

Clean, very nice lobby and a lot of equipment that makes traveling easier. Good service. Comfortable bed.

The room smells of cigarettes although we booked a non smoking room. No Onsen.

Locality to the Shizuoka town centre and Shizuoka Train Station is

The location was fantastic, close to everything. We had dinner in the LINKA Chinese restaurant one night and had a beautiful meal. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast buffet is also a must, especially the coffee and pancakes, yummm.

Not a lot bad about it apart from the squeaky bathroom floor, but that is common in the Japanese we stayed in as they are actually pods already built which are brought in and then the plumbing is hooked up afterwards. I would say one small thing is the carpet is very dated and aging, we had two rooms and both seemed to have very stained carpet.

Would highly recommend this hotel.

Although our stay was short, it exceeded my expectations. Staff were helpful and the location couldn’t have been better. Breakfast was a good and varied.
